The Georgia Department of Banking and Finance approved Dec. 8, 2016, Coosa Valley Federal Credit Union's application to convert its charter and change its name to Coosa Valley Credit Union, according to the state regulator's December 2016 bulletin.

The Rome, Ga.-based institution is seeking to convert to a state charter from a federal charter, according to its website.
