Mechel, Kyrgyz state-owned company ink cooperation deal

Mechel PAO said Dec. 15 that it signed a protocol of intent on developing ties between Mechel-Steel Management Co. OOO and Kyrgyzstan's state-owned Kyrgyz Temir Zholu.

The protocol will run for five years and aims to build systematic cooperation, including product information exchange, as well as cooperation in steel rolls supplies such as broad-gauge rails.

"We are interested in developing partner ties and expanding the market for our rails," Mechel-Steel Management CEO Andrey Ponomarev said. "We sincerely hope that signing this protocol of intent will start a long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation with Kyrgyz Temir Zholu."
