Edgewell Personal Care Co. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended March 31 came to $1.73 per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of $1.72 per share.
EPS increased 6.0% year over year from $1.63.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $107.8 million, an increase of 5.3% from $102.3 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin declined to 9.2% from 9.6% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue decreased 5.1% on an annual basis to $1.01 billion from $1.06 billion, and total operating expenses declined 6.5% year over year to $812.0 million from $868.9 million.
Reported net income totaled a loss of $88.5 million, or a loss of $1.42 per share, compared to income of $98.3 million, or $1.57 per share, in the prior-year period.
