London-based foreign bankers ask to return home ahead of Brexit

Ahead of Brexit, foreign bankers based in London are volunteering to move back to their home countries, Bloomberg News reported April 4, citing "people with knowledge of the requests."

Employees at Citigroup Inc., Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and HSBC Holdings Plc have asked their employers to consider transferring them back to their native countries within the EU if the banks need to relocate staff, the people said.

At least two Société Générale SA traders have already returned to their homes in France and Italy, anticipating such a move, one source said.
