L'Oréal to introduce skincare application on Tmall, Taobao

L'Oréal SA said May 17 it partnered with Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. to introduce the Effaclar Spotscan application on Tmall and Taobao platforms for Chinese consumers.

The Effaclar Spotscan application, owned by L'Oréal's skincare brand La Roche-Posay, provides an analysis of acne-prone skin. The application makes use of L'Oréal's expertise in dermatology and Alibaba's artificial intelligence technologies to give personalized advice and skin care recommendations.

The Effaclar Spotscan will be available on the Chinese e-commerce giant's Tmall and Taobao mobile app from June.
