IHeartMedia Inc.'s streaming broadcast radio platform iHeartRadio is rolling out a series of integrations to bring its library of audio content to more listeners.
IHeartRadio is partnering with SoundHound Inc. to bring audio content to the latter's Hound app and Houndify voice artificial intelligence platform. Hound and Houndify users will have access to iHeartRadio's free offerings, such as live radio and artist radio in the U.S., and podcasts, which will be available globally, with the exception of the U.K., in early 2020.
IHeartMedia also will release a new, stand-alone version of its app for vehicles powered by Google LLC's Android with the Play Store built-in. The app will be distributed via the Google Play Store and will first be available in the Polestar 2 and Volvo XC40 Recharge vehicles. IHeartRadio will also release a new app version to offer an enhanced audio experience for Bayerische Motoren Werke AG and MINI drivers.
New integrations will be available across General Motors Co.'s Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac vehicles with eligible infotainment systems.
IHeartRadio also unveiled some new partnerships with consumer electronics manufacturers LG Electronics Inc., Panasonic Corp. and Harman International Industries Inc.
IHeartRadio is available on over 250 platforms and 2,000 devices.
