Equinix Inc. is planning to interconnect all of its International Business Exchange data centers around the world, a move the company said will enable its customers to access any other customer from any Equinix location.
The new intermetro connectivity will be delivered through the Equinix Cloud Exchange Fabric platform, formerly the Equinix Cloud Exchange, and is immediately available in the North America and Europe, the Middle East and Africa regions.
The company is also expanding its Equinix Internet Exchange into nine new metros in the EMEA and Americas regions in the fourth quarter and early 2018, including Amsterdam, Denver, Dublin, Frankfurt, Houston, London, Manchester, Milan and Stockholm.
Rollout of the service in Denver, Geneva, Helsinki, Miami, Milan, and Munich and Düsseldorf in Germany is expected to occur in the fourth quarter and early 2018, while São Paulo's connectivity within the Americas region, and between APAC region ECX Fabric metro locations — Hong Kong, Melbourne, Osaka, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo — is scheduled in 2018.
