EDF to supply Google with 200 MW from Iowa wind farm

EDF Renewable Energy announced Nov. 30 a power purchase agreement with Google Inc. for 200 MW of wind energy from the Glacier's Edge Wind Project in Iowa.

The project is expected to come online in December 2019, the Electricité de France SA subsidiary said in a news release.

Google started investing in EDF's wind energy business in 2012 when it made a $200 million equity investment in the Spinning Spur Wind Ranch Project in Texas and signed a contract with EDF RE for the output of the 225-MW Great Western Wind Project in Oklahoma.

EDF RE said the Glacier's Edge project will bring its total wind capacity in Iowa to 1,100 MW.
