Enel Americas profit misses consensus by 59.5% in Q2

Enel Américas SA said its normalized net income for the second quarter came to 201.5 million pesos, an increase of 67.1% from 120.6 million pesos in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 6.9% from 3.7% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue declined 11.2% on an annual basis to 2.92 billion pesos from 3.29 billion pesos, and total operating expenses declined 8.6% year over year to 2.36 billion pesos from 2.58 billion pesos.

Reported net income rose year over year to 211.5 million pesos, or 0 centavos per share, from 206.8 million pesos, or 0 centavos per share.

As of July 27, US$1 was equivalent to 666.50 Chilean pesos.
