MedFirst Healthcare Services profit misses consensus by 19.8% in Q4

MedFirst Healthcare Services Inc. said its fourth-quarter normalized net income came to 90 Taiwan cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of NT$1.12 per share.

EPS declined 6.1% year over year from 96 cents.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was NT$22.9 million, a decline of 5.8% from NT$24.3 million in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin fell to 2.2% from 2.5% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue grew 9.5% year over year to NT$1.05 billion from NT$963.1 million, and total operating expenses climbed 10.1% year over year to NT$1.02 billion from NT$927.6 million.

Reported net income decreased from the prior-year period to NT$30.3 million, or NT$1.19 per share, from NT$30.7 million, or NT$1.21 per share.

For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled NT$3.75 per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus normalized EPS estimate of NT$4.62.

EPS rose 18.3% from NT$3.17 in the prior year.

Normalized net income was NT$95.1 million, a rise of 22.5% from NT$77.7 million in the prior year.

Full-year total revenue rose 7.6% on an annual basis to NT$3.88 billion from NT$3.61 billion, and total operating expenses increased 6.9% year over year to NT$3.74 billion from NT$3.50 billion.

The company said reported net income increased 23.8% on an annual basis to NT$121.9 million, or NT$4.81 per share, in the full year, from NT$98.5 million, or NT$4.02 per share.
