The U.K. secured more than £9.3 billion in deals that will generate over 2,500 jobs in the U.K., as British Prime Minister Theresa May wrapped up her three-day China visit, Reuters reported.
More than £1 billion in deals is for the British financial services industry, which will create 890 jobs, the U.K government reportedly said.
Meanwhile, the U.K. Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport and China's State Administration of Cultural Heritage will work to develop U.K.-China cooperation in the field of cultural heritage over the next three years. The U.K. also announced commercial deals for creative industries potentially worth almost £300 million.
"Today's agreements mean we will work even more closely together, collaborating on film festivals, theme parks, architecture, history and much more," said May. "These deals underline the strength of the U.K.'s creative industries and will generate hundreds of millions of pounds of investment, creating opportunities across the U.K."
