Mizuho Bank, Wirecard expand collaboration

Mizuho Bank Ltd. and Wirecard AG expanded their partnership to collaborate in more geographies within the Asia-Pacific region, as well as globally.

The two companies will work together in additional markets within the Asia-Pacific region, including Australia, Malaysia, New Zealand and the Philippines, while also extending collaborations to the U.S. and Europe, according to a Sept. 4 release.

In addition, the companies will jointly develop new payout products and a digital payment solution.

Mizuho Bank has been working with Wirecard since 2018, with the German payments company offering acquiring and issuing services for the Japanese lender's corporate clients in the Asian region.

Mizuho Bank is a unit of Mizuho Financial Group Inc.
