Tenaska closes purchase of 289-MW gas plant in Massachusetts

Tenaska Energy Inc. closed its acquisition of the 289-MW Berkshire Power natural gas-fired plant in Hampden County, Mass., from EIF Berkshire Holdings LLC.

Under the transaction, Tenaska Hampden Partners LLC acquired the controlling stake in the power plant. Tenaska Hampden is 51% owned by Tenaska Energy and 49% owned by Tenaska Energy Holdings LLC. Terms of the deal were not disclosed in the filings.

EIF Berkshire Holdings is 67% owned by Ares EIF Management LLC and 33% owned by John Hancock Life Insurance Co.

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission cleared the transaction May 2. (FERC docket EC18-74)
