Hearst buys WCWG-TV from Lockwood Broadcast Group

Hearst Corp. closed the acquisition of WCWG-TV from Lockwood Broadcast Group.

The CW (US)-affiliated television station serves North Carolina's Piedmont Triad television market that includes Greensboro, High Point and Winston-Salem, the company said Feb. 16.

Hearst subsidiary Hearst Television Inc., which owns the market's NBC affiliate WXII-TV, has been partnering with WCWG and its digital subchannel that carries Bounce network programming, under a channel-sharing arrangement.

Financial terms of the deal, for which Hearst received requisite regulatory approval earlier this week, were not disclosed.
