Barclays names head of US CLO origination, syndication

Barclays PLC named John Clements head of its U.S. collateralized loan obligation origination and syndication platform, Thomson Reuters' LPC reported May 11.

Clements, who joins after 17 years at Citigroup Inc., will be based in New York and is scheduled to start in his new role in July, a spokesperson for Barclays confirmed to the newswire. Clements will report to the lender's head of U.S. credit flow trading, Drew Mogavero.

Meanwhile, Barclays also hired Mike Hopson and Lorraine Medvecky from France-based Natixis to establish a new middle-market CLO platform, according to the spokesperson. Hopson and Medvecky are also expected to join the bank in July.
