The National Football League extended its content distribution deal with Facebook Inc. through the 2020 season, Variety reported Sept. 12.
Under the terms of the deal, the NFL will continue distributing recaps on Facebook's Watch video streaming platform, along with other original content such as video versions of NFL-produced podcasts and video clips featuring NFL Media analysts, reporters and on-air personalities.
The expanded Facebook Watch lineup will include archived content from NFL Films and content for the NFL's 100th anniversary. The NFL will also create Facebook Groups around content themes and plans to host a weekly Facebook Watch Party around game recaps throughout the regular season.
The NFL has content-distribution pacts with other digital platforms such as YouTube LLC and Twitter Inc.
