Report: Broadcom seeks buyer for radio frequency unit

Broadcom Inc. is seeking a buyer for its radio frequency unit in a transaction that could be worth about $10 billion, The Wall Street Journal reported Dec. 18, citing sources.

The company is working with Credit Suisse Group AG for the sale process, which is still in its early stages. A transaction may or may not push through.

The RF unit, responsible for developing film bulk acoustic resonators used in cellphones and base stations to strain unwanted radio transmissions, generated about $2.2 billion in revenue during Broadcom's 2019 fiscal year.
