Wells Fargo promotes exec; former HomeStreet SVP joins Opus Bank

* Wells Fargo & Co. promoted Lora Powers to senior vice president and regional manager in its Chicago middle-market banking leadership team. She replaces Doug Banzuly, who assumed a Midwest leadership role with the company's business banking group.

Powers joined Wells Fargo in 2009 and served as a senior relationship manager in the Chicago market for nine years.

* Irvine, Calif.-based Opus Bank named Michael Conboy senior managing director and San Diego market leader.

He most recently served as senior vice president and market president for San Diego and Orange counties, Calif., at Seattle-based HomeStreet Bank, a unit of HomeStreet Inc.

* Professional Bank appointed Sara Moran-Sam senior vice president and private banker.

She most recently served as vice president and branch manager at Lafayette, La.-based IBERIABANK, a unit of IBERIABANK Corp.

Coral Gables, Fla.-based Professional Bank is a unit of Professional Holding Corp.

* Leader Bank NA has formed a new deposit generation team, known as the Elevate Banking Group, which will be headed by Dorothy Zahir and Travis Hall.

Zahir and Hall, director and vice president of Elevate Banking, respectively, were previously with Providence, R.I.-based Admirals Bank, a unit of Admirals Bancorp Inc.

Arlington, Mass.-based Leader Bank is a unit of Leader Bancorp Inc.
