Bank of America to shutter Topeka, Kan., branches in August

Bank of America Corp. will shut down its three branches in Topeka, Kan., on Aug. 27, The Topeka Capital-Journal reported, citing an email from the bank to its customers.

The bank will retain its three ATMs in the city, the report added.

BofA spokeswoman Diane Wagner told The Topeka Capital-Journal that the closures are part of the bank's move to consolidate overlapping centers to fit customers' needs and "provide the best opportunities for growth" for the business.
