Natura Cosméticos SA said its normalized net income for the fourth quarter was 44 Brazilian centavos per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 48 centavos per share.
EPS decreased 14.5% year over year from 51 centavos.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 188.1 million reais, a decrease of 14.4% from 219.6 million reais in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin fell to 8.4% from 10.1% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue climbed 6.9% on an annual basis to 2.33 billion reais from 2.18 billion reais, and total operating expenses increased 13.0% from the prior-year period to 1.95 billion reais from 1.73 billion reais.
Reported net income fell 35.4% on an annual basis to 145.4 million reais, or 34 centavos per share, from 225.2 million reais, or 52 centavos per share.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled 1.19 reais per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus normalized EPS estimate of 1.39 reais.
EPS declined 24.2% from 1.57 reais in the prior year.
Normalized net income was 512.1 million reais, a decrease of 24.0% from 674.0 million reais in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue grew 6.6% from the prior-year period to 7.90 billion reais from 7.41 billion reais, and total operating expenses increased 10.5% on an annual basis to 6.68 billion reais from 6.05 billion reais.
The company said reported net income fell 29.9% year over year to 513.5 million reais, or 1.19 reais per share, in the full year, from 732.8 million reais, or 1.71 reais per share.
