SPower signs PPA for planned 220-MW wind farm in South Dakota

SPower agreed to sell the output of its planned 220-MW Prevailing Wind Park Project to an unnamed utility under a 30-year contract.

The project will be in Charles Mix, Hutchinson and Bon Homme counties in South Dakota. Construction is expected to begin later this year, according to a Feb. 28 news release.

The company acquired the project in October 2017.

SPower, or FTP Power LLC, is owned by AES Corp. and Alberta Investment Management Corp.
