Dong-A Hwasung Q2 profit falls YOY

Dong-A Hwasung Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the second quarter was 191.48 South Korean won per share, a decrease from 196.63 won per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 2.98 billion won, a decline from 3.11 billion won in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin dropped to 6.0% from 6.7% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue increased 6.3% on an annual basis to 49.50 billion won from 46.56 billion won, and total operating expenses grew 10.7% on an annual basis to 45.94 billion won from 41.49 billion won.

Reported net income decreased on an annual basis to 3.93 billion won, or 252.24 won per share, from 4.05 billion won, or 255.89 won per share.

As of Aug. 17, US$1 was equivalent to 1,183.06 South Korean won.
