Power
* Idaho Power Co. appointed Lisa Grow president and Adam Richins senior vice president and COO. Grow will report to Darrel Anderson, the CEO of Idaho Power and president and CEO of IDACORP Inc., according to a Sept. 20 release. Ryan Adelman was named vice president of transmission and distribution engineering and construction. Bo Hanchey was named chief safety officer. Adelman and Hanchey will replace Vern Porter, who held both roles and announced his retirement, effective Jan. 1, 2020. Idaho Power named Sarah Griffin vice president of human resources and Debra Leithauser vice president of corporate services and communications. All appointments are effective Oct. 1.
* Cyrus Madon resigned from the Vistra Energy Corp. board Sept. 18 to address regulatory matters relating to Brookfield Asset Management Inc.'s proposed 62% acquisition of Oaktree Capital Management LP. The resignation was not the result of any disagreement between Madon and Vistra on any matter relating to operations policies or practices, the company said in a Sept. 19 filing. Madon served on the board as a director designee of Brookfield Asset Management Private Institutional Capital Adviser (Canada) LP under a stockholders' agreement with Vistra's predecessor, TCEH Corp. With this resignation, Vistra and Brookfield have terminated their agreement. Brookfield will no longer be afforded any rights under the agreement, including nominating a director to the Vistra board.
* National Grid PLC appointed Gregory Knight chief customer officer Sept. 16. Knight recently served as senior vice president and chief customer officer of sales, marketing and customer service at CenterPoint Energy Inc., according to a Sept. 18 news release.
* American Electric Power Co. Inc. named former Ryder System Inc. Executive Vice President and CFO Art Garcia to its board. Garcia's initial term as an independent director will continue until the company's annual 2020 shareholders meeting, according to a Sept. 18 Form 8-K filing. Garcia also will serve on the board's audit committee, the committee on directors and corporate governance, the finance committee and the policy committee.
Oil and gas utility/midstream
* Kosmos Energy Ltd. announced that Chris Tong retired as a director Sept. 18 after serving for almost nine years. Steven Sterin replaced Tong as chairman of the audit committee the same day, according to a Sept. 18 securities filing.
* Independent oil and gas company Extraction Oil & Gas Inc. appointed Audrey Robertson to its board, effective immediately. The appointment brings the total number of outside independent directors to six of the eight board members, according to a Sept. 18 news release. Robertson will also become part of the board's audit committee. Robertson is the co-founder and CFO of private oil and gas company Franklin Mountain Energy LLC.
* Canada's Imperial Oil Ltd. said Sept. 17 that chairman and CEO Rich Kruger plans to retire by the end of December. The Exxon Mobil Corp. subsidiary appointed Brad Corson president, effective Sept. 17. Corson will also assume the role of chairman, president and CEO of Imperial on Jan. 1, 2020. In 2015, Corson was named president of ExxonMobil Upstream Ventures and vice president of Exxon Mobil Corp.
* Ring Energy Inc. expanded its board to seven members from six and named Regina Roesener an independent director. Roesener will serve a term until the company's 2019 annual shareholder meeting and until a successor is appointed, according to a Sept. 17 SEC filing. Roesener is COO, director of corporate finance and a board member of NTB Financial Corp.
* New Jersey Resources Corp. appointed James DeGraffenreidt Jr., former chairman and CEO of WGL Holdings Inc. and subsidiary Washington Gas Light Co., to its board. DeGraffenreidt will join the board at the company's meeting in September, according to a Sept. 16 news release. WGL is a unit of Canadian energy infrastructure company AltaGas Ltd.
* Devon Energy Corp. said Tony Vaughn stepped down as COO and as a member of the oil and gas company's executive committee Sept. 11. Vaughn will still be with the company in a special advisory capacity for a transition period before he retires in the first half of 2020, according to a Sept. 16 SEC filing. In connection with the departure, Devon Energy promoted David Harris to executive vice president of exploration and production from senior vice president of exploration and production. Harris will take over Vaughn's responsibilities and duties as COO.
* Great American Group Advisory & Valuation Services LLC, a unit of B. Riley Financial Inc., appointed Jon Donnel managing director of oilfield services based in Houston. Donnel's career includes serving as director of investor relations at oilfield services company Weatherford International PLC.
* G. Edison Holland was elected to South Jersey Industries Inc.'s board Sept. 12 and will serve on the audit, governance and risk committees. Holland was CEO of Southern Co. Holdings and an executive vice president of Southern Co. Services, according to a Sept. 13 news release.
