Ameresco Inc. plans to develop a 27-MW solar farm in DePue, Ill.
The project will have more than 71,000 panels, which are estimated to produce 37,000 MWh in the first year of operation, according to an Oct. 8 news release.
Construction is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2020, and the project is expected to come online later that year, according to the release.
The solar farm is expected to support Illinois' goal of reaching 25% renewable energy by 2025.
