Fiesta Restaurant Group Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended June 28 amounted to 43 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 40 cents per share.
EPS rose 18.6% year over year from 36 cents.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $11.3 million, a gain of 19.6% from $9.5 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 6.6% from 6.1% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue rose 11.5% year over year to $171.9 million from $154.2 million, and total operating expenses increased 10.8% from the prior-year period to $153.4 million from $138.5 million.
Reported net income grew 21.0% from the prior-year period to $11.1 million, or 42 cents per share, from $9.2 million, or 35 cents per share.
