KBL continues hiring UBS execs; HSBC loses co-head of global banking business

S&P Global Market Intelligence presents a daily roundup of management and board changes at financial institutions in Europe. This feature excludes C-level leadership changes and previously reported stories.

KBL European Private Bankers

* KBL European Private Bankers SA named Maria Leistner head of legal and compliance, effective December-end, two sources familiar with the matter told

Leistner is the latest in a series of executives the wealth manager has drawn from UBS Group AG under CEO Jürg Zeltner — himself a former top executive of the Swiss bank's wealth arm.

Leistner has been serving in the top legal job in the Swiss bank's wealth management division since 2018, the report said.

HSBC Holdings

* HSBC Holdings PLC's co-head of U.K. global banking business, Rob Ritchie, left the bank earlier in October, two sources with knowledge of the move told Financial News.

According to the report, his departure comes after HSBC named Julian Wentzel to the newly created role of head of global banking for the U.K. and international Europe earlier in September.

Bank of Ireland

* Bank of Ireland Group PLC named Michele Greene to its board of directors after she was nominated for the position by the Irish finance minister, Paschal Donohoe, the Irish Independent reported.

The minister made the nomination under the terms of the relationship framework between the ministry and the Bank of Ireland.

* Ukraine-based JSC Alfa-Bank appointed Alexander Lukanov head of its corporate business.

Lukanov will add that title to his roles as the bank's president and management board member.
