Jamaican Teas fiscal Q2 profit climbs 20.9% YOY

4913117 said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended March 31 was 2 Jamaican cents per share, an increase of 21.6% from 2 cents per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was J$12.4 million, a gain of 20.9% from J$10.3 million in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 4.2% from 4.0% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed 12.9% on an annual basis to J$292.5 million from J$259.2 million, and total operating expenses rose 12.9% year over year to J$270.9 million from J$240.0 million.

Reported net income increased 19.8% from the prior-year period to J$19.9 million, or 3 cents per share, from J$16.6 million, or 2 cents per share.
