Amazon.com Inc. on Aug. 19 disclosed plans to open a new fulfillment center in Utah.
The West Jordan facility will span more than 1 million square feet. Its staff will handle packing, picking and shipping of large customer items, such as sports equipment, patio furniture, fishing rods, pet food and larger household goods.
The fulfillment center will create more than 800 full-time positions, adding to more than 2,000 existing jobs in the state. Employees will receive a wage of $15 per hour, plus other company benefits. Full-time staff will also have access to training programs under Amazon's Upskilling 2025 initiative.
