Connemara acquires 5 lead-zinc prospecting licenses in Ireland

Connemara Mining Co. Plc said March 31 that it acquired five new lead-zinc prospecting licenses in County Laois in Ireland's Midlands region.

The properties are located along the Rathdowney trend to the northeast of the historical Galmoy and Lisheen zinc-lead mines and include the Tonduff and Derrykearn lead-zinc ore bodies.

"This is good ground in a good trend at a good time for zinc," John Teeling, Connemara's chairman, said. "In the 25 years since these licenses were explored exploration technology has improved as has our understanding of the Irish zinc province."
