Character Group fiscal H1 profit climbs YOY

Character Group PLC said its normalized net income for the fiscal first half ended Feb. 28 came to 24 Great British pence per share, a gain from 8 pence per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was £5.3 million, a gain from £1.9 million in the prior-year period.

Total revenue increased 24.1% year over year to £58.2 million from £46.9 million, and total operating expenses rose 13.6% year over year to £49.5 million from £43.6 million.

Reported net income rose year over year to £7.5 million, or 34 pence per share, from £2.5 million, or 10 pence per share.
