Italy's retail trade value and volume indexes fell by 0.3% each in December 2017 when compared to November 2017, data from the National Institute of Statistics showed.
On a yearly basis, the retail trade index slipped by 0.1% in terms of value in December 2017 and by 0.9% in terms of volume, as large-scale distribution increased by 1.9% while small- and medium-scale distribution fell by 1.7%.
For full year 2017, the value of sales rose by 0.2% while the volume contracted by 0.6%.
