European Cobalt Ltd. said Nov. 28 that it acquired a significant portfolio of cobalt-copper-nickel projects, dubbed the Basinge project, in Sweden's Bergslagen district via direct license application.
The company commenced an open file review of all technical data available relating to the projects. Limited research completed to date identified the existence of historical copper-cobalt-nickel mines and occurrences within the project areas.
The company said it is evaluating a strategic partnership or divestment opportunities for the Scandinavian portfolio to focus on the exploration and development of its flagship Dobsina cobalt-copper project in Slovakia.
