Charleston, S.C.-based CresCom Bank appointed Ryan Borst as senior vice president and commercial lender in the Charlotte, N.C., market.

Before his appointment, Borst was senior vice president and client development officer at Paragon Bank.

Carolina Financial Corp. is the parent company of CresCom Bank.


Grand Rapids, Mich.-based Independent Bank Corp. added Ronia Kruse to its board and the board of unit Independent Bank.

Kruse is the founder and CEO of OpTech LLC and OpTech Solutions.


Hamilton, Bermuda-based Bank of N.T. Butterfield & Son Ltd. added Mark Lynch to its board as an independent director.

Lynch is a former Wellington Management Co. LLP partner.

Financial services

Absolute Software Corp. added William Morris and Ameer Karim to its team.

Morris joins as executive vice president, engineering, while Karim will become executive vice president, product management.

Morris most recently worked at BlackBerry Ltd., and Karim was with Symantec Corp.


Duff & Phelps LLC appointed F. William McNabb III to its board.

McNabb is the former chairman and CEO of Vanguard Group Inc.
