London Mayor Sadiq Khan revealed revised plans for a new £1.1 billion mixed-use development in Olympic Park, which will receive a £385 million investment from the mayor.
The BBC is the latest tenant to sign up for the scheme for its live music offering. Other tenants include the V&A, Sadler's Wells, the London College of Fashion and University College London.
According to the June 5 report, the BBC is slated to take the space that was originally intended for the Smithsonian's first permanent museum outside of the U.S. before it backed out earlier in 2018.
The scheme will also include 600 new homes, of which half will be affordable, in four new towers of up to 24 stories and three smaller residential buildings, the report noted, citing confirmation from Khan.
