Technical glitch leaves Tesco Bank customers without access to online services

A technical fault at Tesco Bank resulted in the lender's customers being unable to access online and mobile banking services on June 5, Reuters reported.

The bank did not immediately disclose the cause of the glitch, but later claimed on social media that the issue had been resolved.

"We apologize to customers who were unable to access online and mobile banking earlier today," the bank said in a Twitter post. "These services are now working as normal and we would like to thank customers for their patience."

The disruption follows a similar problem at TSB Banking Group PLC in May, when up to 1.9 million TSB customers were left without access to services online because of a problematic switch to a new technology system.

Tesco Bank is a trading name of Tesco Personal Finance PLC, which is owned by retail giant Tesco PLC.
