Apex Clean Energy to sell Illinois wind project to Algonquin Power

Apex Clean Energy Inc. on Dec. 21 announced plans to sell the 202-MW Sugar Creek wind project in Logan County, Ill., to a subsidiary of Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. for unspecified terms.

Apex Clean Energy secured long-term contracts with the Illinois Power Agency to provide renewable energy certificates to utilities in the state, according to a company news release.

The expected commercial operation date of the project is 2020, according to the project's website.
