GrandVision completes Tesco Opticians acquisition

Dutch eyewear retailer GrandVision NV said Dec. 4 that it has completed its acquisition of Tesco Plc's opticians business in the U.K. and Ireland.

The deal places 209 Tesco Opticians stores under GrandVision's Vision Express unit, bringing the total number of Vision Express stores to around 600. GrandVision said it plans to retain all employees at the Tesco Optician stores.

Tesco Opticians will be consolidated in GrandVision's financial statements and reported in the G4 segment as of Dec. 4, the company said.
