Yamanashi Chuo Bank Ltd. had bought back 1.2 million shares for ¥1.13 billion.
The regional bank said in an Aug. 28 press release that the move aims to improve profit for shareholders.
The shares, representing 3.63% of outstanding shares, will be retired on Sept. 13.
As of Aug. 28, US$1 was equivalent to ¥105.86.
