Hikari Tsushin fiscal Q1 profit falls YOY

4198082 said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended June 30 was ¥61.39 per share, a decrease of 45.1% from ¥111.80 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥2.83 billion, a decrease of 47.7% from ¥5.40 billion in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin fell to 2.5% from 4.4% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue declined 10.2% year over year to ¥111.31 billion from ¥123.93 billion, and total operating expenses fell 8.9% year over year to ¥106.46 billion from ¥116.83 billion.

Reported net income declined 58.9% year over year to ¥4.13 billion, or ¥89.64 per share, from ¥10.05 billion, or ¥207.98 per share.
