As-me Estelle Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended June 30 was a loss of ¥18.32 per share, compared with ¥18.82 per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of ¥204.4 million, compared with income of ¥210.0 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin fell to negative 2.7% from 3.0% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue grew 7.7% on an annual basis to ¥7.51 billion from ¥6.97 billion, and total operating expenses increased 15.5% on an annual basis to ¥7.81 billion from ¥6.76 billion.
Reported net income came to a loss of ¥376.0 million, or a loss of ¥33.70 per share, compared to income of ¥146.0 million, or ¥13.09 per share, in the prior-year period.
As of Aug. 11, US$1 was equivalent to ¥102.12.
