CNOOC subsidiary grants construction contract to WorleyParsons

Nexen Petroleum U.K. Ltd, a subsidiary of CNOOC Ltd., awarded an engineering, procurement and construction contract to WorleyParsons Ltd. for work on its Buzzard phase II development project, according to an Aug. 9 release.

WorleyParson's UK Integrated Solutions Aberdeen office will provide engineering, procurement and construction services for a topsides module for the project while construction will be done by its Norway-based subsidiary Rosenberg WorleyParsons AS.

Buzzard phase II is a subsea development of the Buzzard northern area, located 100 kilometers northeast of Aberdeen, and aims to develop additional reserves and bring new production on stream.
