Enterprise/Enbridge JV starts open season for crude pipeline expansion

Seaway Crude Oil Pipeline Co. LLC is gauging shipper support for a capacity expansion on its crude oil pipeline system running from Cushing, Okla., to the Texas Gulf Coast, through a binding open season launched Dec. 21.

The expansion could add about 100,000 barrels a day of capacity, according to a Dec. 21 news release. The additional capacity is expected to be available by Feb. 1, 2019.

The binding open season will end 5 p.m. CT on Jan. 21, 2019. The final volume of capacity for committed and uncommitted service and the points of origin and destination will depend on the results of the open season.

Seaway Crude Oil Pipeline is a 50/50 joint venture owned by affiliates of Enterprise Products Partners LP and Enbridge Inc. Its Seaway system comprises a terminal and distribution network originating in Texas City, Texas, serving refineries locally and in the Houston area.
