Imperial Metals to fully own Huckleberry copper mine

Imperial Metals Corp. said April 7 that it is set to become the sole owner of its 50%-owned Huckleberry copper mine in British Columbia.

Huckleberry Mines Ltd., which operates the site, exercised its right of first refusal to purchase for cancellation all shares held by a syndicate comprising Mitsubishi Materials Corp., Dowa Metals & Mining Co. Ltd. and Furukawa Co. Ltd. for C$2 million in cash.

The transaction is expected to close by the end of April, leaving Imperial Metals with full ownership of Huckleberry. The mine has been on care and maintenance since September 2016.
