Apache's Altus Midstream names new CEO

Clay Bretches was named CEO of Altus Midstream Co., a company formed by Apache Corp. and Kayne Anderson Acquisition Corp. to hold Apache's gathering, processing and transportation assets in the Permian Basin's Alpine High play.

Bretches was also appointed to the board of Altus Midstream and will serve as the company's senior vice president of U.S. midstream operations. The appointments are effective immediately, Altus and Apache said in a Jan. 16 news release. Altus' founding CEO, Brian Freed, will continue to serve as Altus' senior vice president for midstream and marketing.

Prior to his appointment, Bretches served as president and CEO of Sendero Midstream Partners LP.
