EC greenlights Engie, Mirova's joint purchase of 50-MW solar farm in Spain

French utility Engie SA and investment manager Mirova have received European Commission approval to jointly acquire an approximately 50-MW solar plant in Spain.

The two companies have been cleared to take joint control of project company PSFV Palma del Rio SL. The solar plant is under construction in Palma del Rio, Spain.

Engie and Mirova previously came together to invest in the 342-MW Phoenix and 300-MW Goya onshore wind projects in Spain.

Mirova — investing via its Mirova Eurofideme 4 fund — is ultimately controlled by BPCE Group, a French banking group.
