Foresight Group invests in The Children's Furniture

London-based infrastructure and private equity investment manager Foresight Group LLP made a substantial investment in Caphan Trading Ltd., doing business as The Children's Furniture Co.

The investment was made on behalf of the Midlands Engine Investment Fund, which is managed by a unit of British Business Bank PLC and backed by the European Regional Development Fund.

Foresight tapped former CEO Gareth Williams to join The Children's Furniture as chairman.

The Children's Furniture will use the capital to expand its product offerings and marketing channels as it enters into new global markets. It is also expected to create 12 new jobs over the next two years in England's South East Midlands region.

Grant Thornton, Shakespeare Martineau and Luminii provided advice on financial due diligence, legal due diligence and commercial due diligence, respectively. Catalysis and 5x Thinking served as advisers on management overview and e-commerce review, respectively. Wyvern Partners and Sheridans acted as advisers to The Children's Furniture.
