Regal Corp. fiscal Q3 profit falls YOY

Regal Corp. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, amounted to ¥191.18 per share, a decrease of 25.5% from ¥256.77 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥607.5 million, a decline of 23.6% from ¥795.1 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin declined to 6.4% from 7.9% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue declined 5.7% year over year to ¥9.55 billion from ¥10.12 billion, and total operating expenses fell from the prior-year period to ¥8.56 billion from ¥8.87 billion.

Reported net income grew 39.7% on an annual basis to ¥722.9 million, or ¥227.50 per share, from ¥517.4 million, or ¥167.08 per share.

As of Feb. 13, US$1 was equivalent to ¥118.68.
