First US Bancshares extends share buyback program

The board of First US Bancshares Inc. has extended the company's existing share repurchase program to expire on the date it has repurchased all of the 93,565 shares still available under the program, or on Dec. 31, 2020, whichever is earlier.

The program was originally approved by the company's board in January 2006.

To date, the Birmingham, Ala.-based company has repurchased about 549,220 common shares under the buyback program.
