Kering, Cartier form partnership to develop, distribute eyewear

French luxury group Kering SA on March 21 said its subsidiary Kering Eyewear will partner with Maison Cartier, owned by Compagnie Financière Richemont SA.

The partnership will create a platform for developing, manufacturing and distributing the Cartier eyewear collection.

Under the agreement, Richemont will acquire a minority stake in Kering Eyewear, but financial terms were not disclosed. The eyewear subsidiary will also integrate the frame manufacturer Manufacture Cartier Lunettes, which is located in Sucy-en-Brie, France.

The Cartier 2018 spring/summer collection will be presented at the next Silmo in Paris, which runs Oct. 6 to 9.
