Bank of the Philippine Islands unit eyes 65 new branches by end of 2018

BPI Direct BanKo Inc., the microfinance unit of Bank of the Philippine Islands, plans to set up 65 branches before the end of 2018, BusinessWorld reported Aug. 13, citing the unit's president, Jerome Minglana.

The move is in line with BPI Direct BanKo's plan to open 200 branches by the end of 2018.

The unit is focusing its expansion in the provinces, with 197 of the new branches to be in provinces across the Philippines.
